'Jillian' is not just a colorway name. It's the name of the young designer who created this shoe — a patient at Doernbecher who was given the opportunity to reimagine the Air Jordan 6 according to her own vision, her own story, and her own sense of what a great shoe can mean.

Style number IB6059-920.

The Doernbecher Freestyle Program

Since 2004, Nike has partnered with OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital to give pediatric patients the opportunity to design their own Nike and Jordan Brand footwear. Each year, a select group of patients — children and young adults facing serious medical challenges — are paired with Nike designers and given creative control over a silhouette of their choosing. The results are always personal, always specific, and always carry a weight that standard commercial colorways simply cannot replicate. Every detail in a Doernbecher shoe tells a story. Every purchase supports the hospital's programs and the families who depend on them. This is sneaker culture at its most human.

What You're Getting

Design: Jillian's personal vision for the Air Jordan 6 — a colorway, material selection, and design detail set chosen by a Doernbecher patient to tell her own story on one of Jordan Brand's most iconic silhouettes

Upper: Women's-specific construction on the AJ6 silhouette in the 'Jillian' colorway — IB6059-920

Tongue: Molded pull-tab in the Doernbecher 'Jillian' treatment — the AJ6's signature design detail reimagined through a young designer's perspective

Cushioning: Visible Nike Air unit in the heel for responsive, all-day comfort from Hatfield's 1991 original

Outsole: Icy clear rubber outsole with herringbone traction — the classic AJ6 detail in the Doernbecher context

Style Code: IB6059-920

Why Doernbecher Releases Matter

Doernbecher Freestyle shoes consistently rank among the most sought-after Jordan Brand and Nike releases of any given year — not because of hype, but because of meaning. The combination of a historically significant silhouette, a deeply personal design story, and a cause that connects sneaker culture to something genuinely important creates a release that resonates far beyond the collector community. Owning a Doernbecher shoe is participating in a story that matters. The 'Jillian' AJ6 is that story, on the championship silhouette, in a women's-specific construction.

The Air Jordan 6 Doernbecher 'Jillian' is a limited release with proceeds supporting OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital.
